Dear Honorable Judge Clemons,
I urge you to overturn Mumia Abu-Jamal’s conviction, and free him from prison.
From a Birmingham jail, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. wrote, “justice delayed is justice denied.”
Mr. Abu Jamal’s case, after 41 years, should no longer continue to be an example of justice denied.
It would be an egregious injustice for you to dismiss the important evidence that was concealed by the Philadelphia District Attorney’s office for 38 years. Mr. Abu-Jamal’s constitutional and human rights to a fair trial have never been honored. At a minimum, I believe it is your judicial duty to grant an evidentiary hearing immediately.
Please remember, this is very time sensitive. Mr. Abu-Jamal has been wrongfully imprisoned for over 41 years, in solitary confinement for 28 of those, stolen from his family for all this time.
It is time for healing the wrongs of discrimination, racial bias, and unfairness.
It is indeed never too late to do the right thing.
Please do the right thing, and free Mumia Abu-Jamal.
